Child Protection and Safeguarding

Safeguarding Children at Amberley C of E Primary School

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This means that we have Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies and procedures in place which we refer to on our website. All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) must ensure that they are aware of these procedures.  The school’s policy is available for parents/carers to read via the school’s website.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare.  We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Federation Designated Safeguarding Lead for Pupils is: Mrs Lizzie Martin

Our school-based Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are:

Mrs Rebecca Westwood, Mr Paul Armitage, Mrs Nicky Kirby and Mrs Jo Eyre

If you have a concern about a child’s welfare, please contact a DSL as soon as possible.  Record your concerns, and any observations or conversations heard but please do NOT conduct your own investigation or approach parents/carers independently.

Should you be unable to contact any of the above designated people and you have a pressing concern or believe a child to be in immediate danger, you can contact Child Protection Services either by phone 01403 229900 or via this QR Code:

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Allegations against Staff is:

Safeguarding and Child Protection is the responsibility of everyone in the

Amberley C of E community; the worst thing that we can do, is to do nothing.

Please do not hesitate to raise a concern, no matter how small you may feel it is.
